Summary :

I had been attending animation conventions for a few years by this time. There were a few attendees that I got to know and enjoy very much. They had suggested that I play and do fanart for a game called Team Fortress. My husband and I tried to play it but never got the damn thing to work for us. BUT…I did Youtube (slang verbs, got to love them) it. Thank gawd for geeks. I watched a multitude game play and story clips from it, found it to be the funniest thing I had seen in a while and had no problem immediately making lego versions of the little buggers. To date they rank as my favorites. Each finish piece were sold as laminated badges and bookmarks. They were very popular.

Inked originals below :

Medium used

  • Some cheap “Manga” paper that was perfect for marker. Not so much. It sucked up too much ink.
  • non photo blue size 9 mechanical pencil (initial gesture lines)
  • HB 7 mechanical pencil (later erased)
  • black brush pen – Faber-Castell and Japanese Pentel brush with ink catridge
